  • December 11, 2020: FORTH and UCY organized a tutorial "Reconfigurable Metasurfaces for Intelligent 6G Wireless Networking" at the IEEE Global Communications Conference (IEEE GLOBECOM), virtually.

The event was open to the public and people from all backgrounds and age groups attended. During this event the many of the projects and research areas of the center were showcased including VISORSURF project, by UCY. (~10.000 persons)

  • March 21-22, 2019: Prof. Sergei, from AALTO, gave two lectures, with topics "Exotic and extreme performance of composite sheets" and "Metasurfaces: From wire-mesh screens to perfect shaping of reflected and transmitted fields", in "Metamaterial Symposium in Tokyo", Tokyo, Japan.
  • February 26, 2019: SignalGeneriX, in collaboration with the project partners, completed the manufacturing and initial hardware testing of the HyperSurface development board for software-driven programmable metasurfaces. The board includes a set of flat micro-antennas on its surface, equipped with pin diodes following a 1-bit coding approach. It will now be transferred to the FORTH/AUTH premises for developing an automated evaluation testbed essential for the project's upcoming HyperSurface prototypes, and for authoring the electromagnetic control software modules enabling the HyperSurface paradigm.

  • August 31, 2018: UCY organized summer internships in June - Aug 2018. The students that participated to summer internships were able to interact with activities and training related to the VISORSURF Project like working on fault identification and tolerant algorithms, on simulations with AnyLogic and Emulator and on performing evaluation results.
